Google Business Profile · North Shore, MA
Most people never reach your website. They decide from the map.
Someone in Peabody searches for what you sell. Three businesses appear on a map with photos, hours and reviews. They pick one and call. Your website was never part of that decision — your Google Business Profile was.
The work
What profile management involves.
A Google Business Profile is not a form you fill in once. It's a page Google keeps re-ranking against every competitor in your area, every day.
Categories and services
The primary category decides which searches you're eligible for at all. Most profiles are set to something too broad, chosen years ago, and never revisited.
The information itself
Hours, service areas, attributes, the description. Wrong or missing details cost you rankings and cost your customers a wasted trip.
Photos, regularly
Profiles with current photos get engaged with more than profiles with three pictures from 2019. Not glamour shots — the actual place, the actual work.
Reviews and replies
Asking the right customers at the right moment, and replying to every review including the difficult ones. A reply is read by everyone who comes after.
Questions and posts
The Q&A section can be answered by anyone, including a competitor. Posts keep the profile active. Both are ignored by almost every business.
The website behind it
Profile and site reinforce each other. A profile pointing at a slow page loses the visit it earned. If yours needs work, we rebuild it in hand-coded HTML.
Why the map matters more than the ranking
The map pack is three results. Everything else is below the fold.
Near-me searches are local by default
Someone typing "near me" on a phone gets a map before they get a list of websites. If your profile isn't in those three results, you're competing for attention that has already been spent.
Proximity is not the only factor
Google weighs relevance, distance and prominence together. Distance you can't change. Relevance and prominence are exactly what profile management works on — and it's why a business further away sometimes outranks the one down the street.
What clients say
Every review on Google is five stars.
Bonbonica has helped our business tremendously in the online world. Maida is a great communicator who understands our business. I highly recommend their services for increasing your business's online presence.
I really appreciate Bonbonica's friendly and professional approach. They helped me locate new customers and improve my understanding of digital marketing.
Who does the work
A person, not a ticket queue.
Profile management is unglamorous and it's mostly consistency — checking, posting, replying, correcting. It gets done by the same person every month, someone who knows which towns you care about and why.
It works best alongside local SEO, because the profile and the site feed each other. More about how we work, or get in touch.
Google Business Profile questions
Questions we get asked.
What is a Google Business Profile and why does it matter?
It is the listing that appears on the map when someone searches locally. For most local searches it is the entire first impression — three results appear before any website does, and most people never scroll past them.
How do I get into the Google map pack?
Google weighs three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Distance you cannot change. Relevance is your categories and services. Prominence is reviews, mentions and an active profile. Two of the three are in your hands.
Can I manage my Google Business Profile myself?
Yes, and you should start today whether or not you hire anyone. Fix the primary category, list every service separately, add photos this week, and answer the questions section before a competitor does.
Why did my Google Business Profile get suspended?
Usually keywords in the business name, a fake or shared address, or bought reviews. Getting reinstated takes longer than doing it properly would have. If yours is suspended, tell us and we will look at it.
